California Gov. Gavin Newsom reported Thursday that all residents age 16 and up will be qualified to get the COVID-19 vaccine starting April 15, and each one of those age 50 and older will be qualified to get it starting April 1.

“Now, there’s not simply light at the passage, there’s splendid culmination of current circumstances,” Newsom said in a news gathering in Santa Ana Thursday morning. “Only 48 hours prior, we passed 15 million regulated doses… That’s near 6,000,000 more than some other state in the country. We are directing a greater number of doses than everything except five different countries on the planet.”

“Our solitary imperative is manufactured inventory,” Newsom added.

Newsom’s office likewise said California expected to get 2.5 million vaccine doses week by week in the principal half of April, and in excess of 3,000,000 doses week after week in the second 50% of April.

The state right now gets about 1.8 million doses each week.

“Before the following month’s over, we’ll have the option to control 4,000,000 doses every week, with the assumption that more stockpile will be made accessible,” Newsom said.
