United Airlines says its unvaccinated pilots are costing the company almost $1.5 million at regular intervals.
news reports the airline had to put the pilots on paid leave since colleagues rejected “to risk their safety” by flying with unvaccinated coworkers.
Last Friday, United asked a federal judge in Texas not to expand an impermanent restriction on the antibody mandate the airline reported in August. The Fort Worth judge declined, expanding an interval request on Monday that restricted the airline from putting unvaccinated workers with a strict or clinical exclusion to the company’s mandate on neglected leave.
The boycott produced results last month, yet the report recommends that unvaccinated pilots cost the Chicago-based airline about $1.4 million at regular intervals. The airline is probably not going to recover the lost assets, media reports.
In late September, the airline declared that almost 100% of its workers were inoculated, per its mandate. Almost 600 unvaccinated workers were scheduled to be terminated, albeit United affirmed hundreds more complied.
