In excess of 200 individuals from the California National Guard have been activated to help give staffing to COVID-19 testing communities in the midst of the flood of cases because of the omicron variant, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office reported Friday.
The Cal Guard members will be conveyed at 50 locales statewide, “giving interval clinical staff while long-lasting staff are employed, adding limit with respect to walk-ins, helping with swarm control and refilling for staff nonattendances – all with an end goal to lead more tests for additional Californians,” Newsom’s office said in a release.
Of those 50 sites, 18 are situated in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Ventura areas, Newsom’s press office said in an email.
