LOS ANGELES – For the first run through in quite a while history, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is involved all ladies.
The board’s leader office delivered an official photograph highlighting a composite of the all-female gathering, including recently chose Supervisor Holly Mitchell, who was confirmed Sunday.
Mitchell speaks to the Second District, a position held at this point City Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas throughout the previous 12 years.
The photograph includes every chief against a background of famous symbolism from each region, including the Watts Towers and the Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier.
Every official is seen sporting white to check the current year’s centennial commemoration of the reception of the nineteenth Amendment into the U.S. Constitution, giving ladies the option to cast a ballot.
Manager Janice Hahn reviewed her dad Kenneth’s long history with
the board.
“I grew up observing my father, the first Supervisor Hahn, serve on this amazing leading body of five men,” Hahn said. “Serving on a leading group of five ladies
implies a great deal to me by and by, however what I need generally out of this memorable second is for young ladies and young ladies to see us and realize that they are brimming with
potential. Being a lady isn’t a weakness in authority — it is a resource.”
Tuesday’s gathering will see Supervisor Hilda L. Solis take over as seat of the board in a post that pivots among the chiefs.
