House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will seek reelection

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared Tuesday she will look for reelection, finishing hypothesis that she would resign as Democrats face the danger of failing to keep a grip on Congress in the 2022 midterms.

“While we have gained ground, considerably more should be done to work on people’s’ lives,” the 81-year-old Pelosi said in an online video.

“This election is urgent. Nothing less is in question than our democracy,” she added.

By reporting she would look for a nineteenth term, Pelosi tries not to turn into a stand in a year when Democrats are sticking to a delicate larger part in the House and the party is feeling the squeeze to collect huge amounts of cash to defend control of Congress.

Her decision to stay in the chamber follows declarations by 29 House Democrats that they won’t look for reelection this year, contrasted with 13 Republicans as the GOP looks toward reclaiming the House.

The party that controls the White House ordinarily loses seats in Congress in midterm elections, and Democrats are guarding the two chambers when President Joe Biden’s approval rating has been slipping.

“Our democracy is at risk on the grounds that the attack on reality, attack on the U.S. Legislative hall and the state-by-state attack on casting a voting rights,” she added.

In the video, Pelosi never addresses assuming she means to look for one more term as the House’s Democratic chief, whenever reelected.

The San Francisco Democrat left a mark on the world 15 years prior when she turned into the main female speaker of the House. She has served in Congress starting around 1987.

Recently in a meeting with The news, Pelosi just alluded to one more run, saying she “may” look for reelection.

In a Twitter post, California Republican Kevin Kiley, a congressional applicant and state assemblyman, said Pelosi’s declaration was “all the more reason we need Republicans in Congress who will fight.”
