Tropical Storm Pamela moved along Mexico’s Pacific coast forecast major hurricane

Typhoon Pamela quickly strengthened as it moved along Mexico’s Pacific coast Monday and it was estimate to turn into a significant tropical storm prior to hitting shore some place close to the port of Mazatlan at midweek.

The U.S. Public Hurricane Center said Pamela’s middle was around 455 miles (735 kilometers) south-southwest of Mazatlan Monday and was moving northwest at around 8 mph (13 kph). The tempest had most extreme breezes of around 65 mph (100 kph).

Pamela was gauge to take a move in the direction of the north and upper east, passing near the southern tip of the Baja California promontory late Tuesday or early Wednesday at tropical storm strength. The tempest was figure to make landfall Wednesday close to Mazatlan, possibly as a Category 3 tropical storm.

Pamela was then expected to debilitate while getting over northern Mexico and could move toward the Texas border as a downturn by Thursday.

The hurricane center warned of the possibility of life-threatening storm surge, flash floods and dangerous winds around the impact area.
