Another order requires all health care workers across the territory of California to be vaccinated against Covid as the profoundly infectious Delta variant continues to spread.
The state recently declared that such workers would have the choice of either being vaccinated or going through week after week COVID-19 testing, yet the new rule mandates vaccinations.
“As we keep on seeing an expansion in cases and hospitalizations because of the Delta variant of COVID-19, it’s significant that we secure the weak patients in these settings,” Dr. Tomas J. Aragon, CDPH director and state general health official, said in an articulation. “The present activity will likewise guarantee that health care workers themselves are ensured. Vaccines are the way we end this pandemic.”
Workers are needed to be completely vaccinated or accept their second dose of the vaccine by Sept. 30.
The new state order passes on space for workers to quit because of medical or religious reasons.
